Cyclist's prayer
Friend of mine found this by a statue of a Catholic Saint on a retreat.
As we bike through the city streets, the highways and the mountain trails
Protect us Lord from
Spills and crashes
Trucks and cars whose drivers do not recognize our right to use the roads
Dogs who like to bite our shapely legs
Potholes, cracks, and sharp objects that flatten our tires,
Thieves, and bikenappers who lust after our bikes
The rains and thunders
And all kinds of nasty accidents
Give us energy and the strength
To wake up in the morning and go for a bike ride
To keep us from bonking
To ride up hills and mountains
To reach our destination
Grant us the courage
To descend rapidly down the hills
To ride through the rain
To join and finish races even if we know we'll never win
May we experience the joy and ecstasy
As we are moved by the beauty of nature
As the sun and the wind caress our face
As we feel one with the bike and the road
And forget about the time
As we get in touch with the child within us
As we enjoy each other's company
As we feel we could bike forever
May we continue biking even as we grow old
And up to the day we die
And may you allow us to continue biking in heaven
Forever and ever
Amen!

“When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.”
- Emo Phillips
He also said, "You don't appreciate a lot of stuff in school until you get older. Little things like being spanked every day by a middle-aged woman: Stuff you pay good money for in later life."

My bike prayers tend to be much shorter: Dear God, please don't let me get dropped!

My prayer is pretty simple. Lord, please help me get throught his ride with no problems or accidents. The beauty of nature, the body, and the earth are you gifts and I am grateful that that I have been given the chance to see them.

Mine's pretty simple.
Dear buddha, allah, mother earth, satan, krishna, unknowable blob, that weird jesus/father/ghost trinity thing, murphy, infinite "life force", the fates, my dead childhood dog gabriel, shiva, ghosts/goblins/gremlins, skeletor, and the folding & unfolding quantum universe in general..... no flats today, okay?

My prayer:
Papa Darwin,
To you who designed my intricate body and gave me consciousness by blowing wind over a muddy pond,
May you evolve me to reproduce in a more prolific fashion so that I may triumph over the weaker breeds
In spite of my best attempts to Kill myself on this ride.
Imbue me with your genetic superiority
That I may pass my genes and memes to my descendants forever
Although I have no idea why that should be important
As some day I will rot in the grave and submit my elements back to Your Holy Randomness.
But Whatever.

To the contrary, but is there any sense in starting an argument about this? Suffice it to say that bolding my comment and calling it "incorrect," as though that were some established matter of fact is pretty silly (the opposite is far more likely, according to both observational and empirical evidence). You are entitled to your beliefs, and I am entitled to my lack of them.
