CONTEST-guess what bike this is and win some DeFeet socks

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I will also call DRietz guess a winning guess too for the model name, so I am not called a rulebender for accepting Issaquatch's guess.

So there are two winners for the model name
DRietz & Issaquatch

Yay! I don't need any socks, it's alright. I did guess the year though, and I was pretty darn close.

I have another bike in the attic that I will pull down and take photos of and have another guessing contest. It is a nicer (IMHO) and rarer frame to guess

It might be a week of so.

rarer than that? My word, I won't even bother trying that one.

I am certain that wasn't the exact year (because I bought the bike the first week of January 1974) but since I am not 100% certain of the year because the place I bought it from said it was used for 1 or two seasons before I bought it. My best guess is 1972 for the exact date (but still not 100% sure).
thanks!

the frame is as old as me!
