Specialized Roubaix Riders: What seat post?
This is for the Specialized Roubaix riders in the forum.
Do you use the stock Roubaix seatpost (with Zertz insert) or do you use an aftermarket post? (I notice that the Thomson seatpost is about the same weight as the Roubaix post.) Why or why not? That is . . . what's good or bad about the standard Roubaix post?

I ran the stock one on my Roubaix for a long time. No reason to spend money on that if you don't have to. I was 200lbs and road the bike pretty hard and never had an issue with it.

Stock - for the Zertz insert.

Stock for now. As long as the set back allows for proper fit I see no reason to swap it out just for the sake of swapping it out. I am a Thomson guy as well but the Spec post works just fine.

Both mine and the wife's are stock. I never have seen any reason to use aftermarket seat posts unless you damage the stock or are building a bike up from frameset alone. I can sweat the weight differences between most posts.

Bikes: aggressive agreement is what I ride.
I'm tall, and have a lot of seatpost exposed. The angle on the seattube pushed me to getting a post with 0 setback to maintain good fit. I went with the $100ish 3T carbon post. (looks nice, matches stem, was much lighter than the Specialized post)
