Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

+1 Cycling helps me be a safer driver and to look out for things I never would have before. Clipping in = Seatbelt in my book.

Affect your cycling?

You mean like trying to make a turn with no signal while using a cell phone and eating a cheeseburger on the bike, yelling at other cyclists to get off the road and ride on the sidewalk, or circling the parking lot at the store for ten minutes to find the closest pole to lock the bike.

Can't say it does.

I think that cycling affects my driving more than the other way around. As I pretty much ride more than I drive now days. I think the biggest change for me is the realization that a 5 to 10 second delay due to someone turning in front of me while driving or having to sit through two light changes due to heavy traffic is not the end of the world.
