Has waterrockets checked for a squirrel in his BB?

When I was riding on the mainland a skunk ran in front of me ... I jumped to avoid him but rolled him over ... I think he was unharmed ... didn't stick around to make sure though. We don't have skunks, possums, or squirrels where I live now but mongooses fill the same roadkill niche.

Ive had a squirrel bounce off my 36-spoke wheels. He did the "will I, won't I" dance by the side of the road then suddenly bolted out and bounced off the spokes with a satisfying twang. I think he damaged his pride but that's all.

Why squirrel hate me?

Caught one amidships on a local MUP this summer, looked around and it was jerking and trying to move. So what's the most humane thing to do? Run over it again? Beat it on the head with your frame pump? Wait for a red-tailed hawk to arrive for an easy meal? Must admit I kept going.

Also had a bat land on my leg a couple of years ago. Brushed it off and it disappeared, but left me a little freaked.

I had a big lizard (12") bounce off my front wheel once. Then I saw the squirrel pic above. Yikes! Both the lizard and I were lucky that day. We also have Muscovy ducks all over south fla. They are dumb and dirty. If they are crossing in front of you, you have to steer behind them because they won't turn around. I was riding solo on day and for got that. I ran over one's neck. He was ok, but I was a bit shook up.

I was riding my cross bike on the trails behind my house and ran over a squirrel today. They're crazy right about now. On my way out of the driveway, there were 2 or 3 in every yard, it was like a squirrel gang, I halfway expected one to break a beer bottle and threaten to stab me.
Anyways, I hit that squirrel at a pretty high rate of speed, like 25 mph. I felt my tire bottom out as I hit it, so the thing got more aluminum crushign it than rubber. I looked back and saw him limping off really slowly.
