Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What kind of Peugeot is this?

Hi all, I recently purchased this bike from craigslist and was wondering if you guys can tell me more about it. The Peugeot does not have any kind of model name or number on the bike. I paid $240 for it.

Thanks

Sorry for the grainy picture.

Is this a quality beginner bike?

Good beginner bike? I see Shimano Sora brake/shift levers. Sora is solid and smooth. Definitely a good solid road bike. Ride it with pride.

Can't help you with the model but I would think it is a good few years old. (1" stem points to that) No idea what milage it may have on it but I would suggest you get the wheels detensioned and retrued before too many miles. Doubt that it has ever been done so get them checked out before you get too many miles on them.

that seems like a pretty good deal to me at 240 for a first bike.

The brifter setup alone is probably worth the 240. So as far as value goes, it's a good one. As far as quality goes, this bike is kind of bottom of the line puegot. STeel handlebars and stem are the first giveaway to it being the beginners end of the spectrum. Either way, still a kick ass pick up for what you paid, and enjoy it!
