Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

With no shifting problems, just preferring a crisper shift and there description of "Not A+ shifting", I'll wait till mine wear out and convert to 11.

The not A+ shifting refers to converting an 11 speed shifter to 10 speed. The problems there is not the repair kit, but the fact that it also requires the front ratchet. The shifter would not work properly without it. The front ratchet is no longer sold seperately, so the only proper way to convert a shifter from 11 to 10 speed is buy a different major assembly EC-CE100, that includes all parts, except the brake lever, band clamp and brake hood. It's preassenbled, so all you do is put those parts onto the new assembly. To keep the ball bearings on the main pivot of a Record shifter, you'd need to trade all the internals and the front ratchet from the EC-CE100.
