218 is the back road. Too crazy and no shoulder on 9W.

10,000' of vertical should be doable.

In all fairness, you climb more feet in a weekend than most of the yahoos on BF get in a year.

From this morning. Just me and the Ipod.

I saw The Road last week (rental). I thought it sucked. Another pointless piece of offal that gets hacked up out of Hollywood too often these days. imho

I got home last night and put the new 6603 crankset on the Orbea'. after I did a few things around the house this AM. I took it out for, what was supposed to be a 60+ miler. My frigging right guad siezed up at about the 8 mile mark, OH EFF ME!!!!!!!!!! Damn does that hurt! I sucked it up and did 25, then the frigging thunderstorm/tornado warning started. This blows, I gotta go back out tomorrow for 5 days down to Mobile Alabama for work. Travelling sucks. I hate it. 3 years of this crap.

AHHHHH! That felt good! Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.

Herbie53 06-27-10 02:11 PM

We had to drive 2 hours to get to it, but there is some decent climbing here.

The Blackhawks won the Cup. Bron Bron and Bosh will join Derrick Rose by the end of the week. Peppers + a healthy Urlacher, and the combination of Marinelli, Tice, and Martz for the Bears.

All order in Chicago sports has returned. Any questions?

rjones28 06-27-10 02:52 PM

What the heck are you talking about?

sbxx1985 06-27-10 02:54 PM

Exactly.

rjones28 06-27-10 02:55 PM

In other news, stem swap was a sucess. Fit feels better with the lower bar position, now that I am getting my core fitness back. Saddle could probably move forward a mm or two. We'll see.

rjones28 06-27-10 02:59 PM

My family comes from northern Illinois, so lots of Chicago fans. My grandmother was a Cubs fan her whole life. That wasn't the official cause of her death, but we know better.;)

Carlos Marmol (Cubs closer) is about to blow it in the 9th against the Sox. Stupid interleague games.

sbxx1985 06-27-10 03:05 PM

We survived.

Negative.

I've never been on a road I couldn't climb.

Here's the elevation profile:

http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/4...tterflygap.jpg

Notice the unrelenting punishment of the two mile stretch. The first couple times I rode it I stopped on the steep part near the top and took me several attempts to clip in and start pedaling again, even if I tried going sideways or downhill.

Yesterday (caution: this will blow your semi-retired mind) I did it at 90F afternoon heat without using my 25-emergency-use-only gear.

coasting 06-27-10 04:31 PM

hey cadmeister

In all your decades of riding, have you ever cured an injury by riding through the pain? I totally cured my little hamstring issue this weekend by riding long long rides that were very easy on the knee. Light spinning for hours loosened everything up.

I did 4 hours on a 2.6 mile circuit today. Being able to withstand that amount of mind numbing tediousness I'm sure is the result of reading this thread regularly.

Oh, that sounds exciting. Then again, if your alternative was to watch soccer I don't know why you didn't do it for six hours instead.
