I wouldn't stand a chance against anyone on a hill. But you put me on flat and im a rocket. Over 10 miles I can usually run 24-26MPH av. But as i said I suck at hills. And thats coming from the person who beats everyone back on the "fast " Group ride.

Listen razor. You've done less than 5 cat 5 races and are the king of your local fred ride. You have no room to claim that you are a "rocket." Jump into some 3/4 or hell even a 4 race and you will be shocked.

cat 5 and 4 seem the same to me... however i agree that king of the fast ride doesn't mean much till you cross the line first at a real race.

Kind of like riding with a pro tour guy!

Masters = pro-tour?

does not compute. :rolleyes:

heckler 06-27-10 09:00 PM

maybe do a TT razor?

If you are really turning 24-26 you will do very well and have something to hang your hat on.

Exactly why he has no merits to call himself a rocket.

anyway, took the granny gear off the new crit bike today. Looking for a VERY cheap set of STI's for it. anything that works... Hoping to get a tad bit of money together for those...

I have a 9 speed ultegra rear shifter I'm not using.

heckler 06-27-10 09:13 PM

do you really average 24-26 for 10 miles? because that could put you off the front of most races for a while...but if you do a TT and post the results (with your rockest time) it will certainly shut some of us up :)

I think you can do it, but understand others being frustrated if you are claiming to go faster than they can and you have not really "backed it up"

I think that he meant that on a 10 mile ride he has reached speeds up to 26 mph.

Can we please get off the average speed discussion? I could care less what razor averages because there are so many damn variables it tells you absolutely nothing.

I average 21-23 on 3+ mile 9% grades. That's without a really strong headwind though obviously.
