Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

TT bike w/ drops [as road bike]?

I have a tt bike that I have replaced the aerobars with drop bars. At first the drops were not very comfortable but now I don't feel any discomfort. Is there any particular reason why people, or I shouldn't do this?

Why take the aero bars off? The bike's geometry is optimised for using em, innit?

Seems to me, whatever reasons you opted for the drop bars, should apply to using a whole general-purpose road bike instead.

A TT bike isn't going to handle nearly as well, I'd have thought...

I mean, people have done it before, or at least thought about it. It's kind of like those Cervelos with the gigantic seat tubes and aero stuff on them.

It probably doesn't handle that well, but it would work I guess. I'd just sell the TT bike and get a road bike.

I think frame size is the issue. TT bikes tend to run small so people can reach their bars.Changing to road drops could leave you feeling cramped on the bike.

Because the geometry of road bikes and TT bikes is completely different.
