Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Does This Bar Tape Look Lame

I'm bored with red, black, and white. I had charcoal grey, which looked quite tidy, but I wanted something fresher, sportier...okay, I wanted a new bike but could only afford bar tape

What say you?

I like yellow bar tape on blue, purple, and sometimes red frames...but not so much on the white/red that you have. That'st just my opinion though, and I probably wouldn't even notice it if you showed up on a local group ride and didn't mention it.

Yeah, that wouldn't be my first choice, but whatever. Either use it until it's dirty or trashed or spend $10 on something that matches. I bet that charcoal grey did look sharp.

Huh, its actually good. But I wouldn't put yellow anywhere else. This is a stand alone accent piece, which will likely change next time around.

I like it. Not a yellow person, but the contrast is nice. I've personally given up on trying to get bar tape to match anything else. If it's the slightest bit off, it clashes and looks like crap. So now I just go with black, or with a completely random color that has nothing to do with anything else on my bike.

Not terrible. I think white would look better. The good thing about bartape is its so easy (and cheap) to change, so why not experiment?

It did freak me out when I first put it on, I'm getting more used to it now that I've walked by it 20 times.

I'll probably leave it on until it gets worn out, then maybe try white on the bottom and black on the top. I practiced making the color transition by the hoods with scraps and think I've got it figured out how to change colors under the hoods like the Cannondale super six in team colors shown on their website.

Thanks for the opinions!

I like the tape, but I like the stand even more. Who makes it and where can I get one?

Thanks,
Bob

I think it looks pretty decent honestly. I'm sure other colors might look better but it's kinda cool in a way. I'd leave it for a while.
