What's in a name?
1. Is it built well?
2. Does it fit well?
3. Does it ride well?
If you answered "yes" to the above 3 questions, buy it and RIDE!

I used to have a Trek 6800 and the replaced it with a Trek 7201. Now I have a Trek Madone 6.2577777778 repeating. Next year I'll be getting the Trek Madone A^2 + B^2 = C^2. Year after that? Yeah..... the Trek Pilot A+ - the square root of B + (2a +b)/ 2ac (That equation is off and I don't care). It'll be everything that the Cannondales had about 4 years ago. GONNA BE DOPE!

I used to ride a Trek in the 80s. Currently, I really like Cervelo, with Red. OP's Trek looks gorgeous. JFlurett's posting of the quadratic formula is cool. If the part under the square root sign goes negative, you have go to imaginary numbers, i babies, which are cool.

I know you just want to argue, I prefer Italian machines from the 60s/70s and 80s and as to Trek being no longer USA, Pinarello never was but they were Italian in 1987 as opposed to a slave box factory in China et al.
When Trek/Specilzed/Cannondale were USA made by my neighbors and neighbors neighbors I did give them preferential treatment over Asian sources, now that they are Asian I see no reason to give them preferred shopping consideration. That resulted in the purchase of a Taiwan built Surly.
I don't buy many new plastic bikes especially now that they all come from Asia. Does that answer your question?
We did a 50 mile ride this morning, nearly every bike was either a black looking Trek or a black looking Specialized, over 90%. They all looked alike with the overblown stylized computer graphics and mushed shapes. The only people who stood out were those of us riding something other than a generic Trek. I did not have much bad feelings passing them either.

I'd love to buy American good, but the economics of everything simply don't justify many companies from manufacturing widgets here. There are exceptions for sure.

My C-dale also proclaims made in the USA. So was the Toyota in my garage. And my folks GM was madein Canada. SO? Anyway, nice Trek, and the reason I don't ride one is that the shop that treated my best and spent the most time in fitting me sells Cannondale and Cervelo. Plenty of them in my neck of the woods though.

A lot of folks say they see plenty of Treks around, in my area and at most races I attend, I see way more cannondales, specialized and cervelo's then Treks. I also have a CAAD9 which I like as well. Previous team sponsor was a c'dale dealer and current shop sponsor sells c'dale and trek.

One of my favorite color schemes, providing you keep the white saddle. Slap some white cages on it and get those stickers off of the frame and she'll look even sweeter.
