Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What happened to Treks

I've been wandering a lot around on the forum lately and realize that there isn't much post about
Trek bikes, it seem like Trek doesn't have much fans here. Please show your Trek if you own one

Here is mines

2009 Trek Madone 5.5

I just installed the handlebar today and thought it looks pretty good without bar tape.
I'll ride it without the tape for now, if it gets uncomfortable then I'll wrap it.

do what pleases you of course, but i think its ridiculous to sacrifice functionality on a bike for looks

I've been riding with gel padded gloves, so probably won't be that bad
but like I said if it gets uncomfortable I'll wrap it, it doesn't hurt to try

To the OP - What happened to your saddle? Is that a shadow? It looks as if someone took a torch to the top...

Didn't somebody just post a thread about simple, non-pro bikes? We don't need another one.

(I kid -- I ride a Trek, too. )

Do you guys have any idea how much bar tape weighs?
Think about it... you wear gloves, you never touch the tape anyway.

ps, loving my 1.7, must go take off the bar tape...

I used to have a Trek 6800 and the replaced it with a Trek 7201. Now I have a Trek Madone 6.2577777778 repeating. Next year I'll be getting the Trek Madone A^2 + B^2 = C^2. Year after that? Yeah..... the Trek Pilot A+ - the square root of B + (2a +b)/ 2ac (That equation is off and I don't care). It'll be everything that the Cannondales had about 4 years ago. GONNA BE DOPE!
