Saris Cyle On only option for 1.25" hitch mounted, wheel holding, 4 bike rack? (Prius
Hi,
I just bought a new car (a Toyota Prius), and with the whole "new car" thing I've been looking to get all the stuff I wanted on my last car but didn't want to sink the money into - hitch rack that holds bikes by the wheels, roof rack, etc.
After doing some research, I thought I wanted to buy a Thule T2 rack - I really like how you can adjust the spacing between each bike. But when I looked further into it, it appears that only the 2" hitch version has the 2 bike extension, the 1.25" version does not. And that's completely useless to me - I'm looking for a rack so I could put 4 people plus the bikes in the car if I need to (which I occasionally do).
Am I correct in saying that for a 1.25" hitch (the only size that the uhaul site says is available for my car), the Saris Cycle On rack is my only option? I want a hitch rack for convenience, and I want one of the wheel-holding ones because I'm tired of screwing around with the cross-bar for my mountain bike, plus it's just easier.

I've got a Curtis 1.25" receiver hitch on my Prius but I only use a Thule 2-bike. The hitch has taken some abuse but I've had no problems with it.
I'd go with the adapter and the Curtis hitch.
