Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think it is a flight deck computer cable.

+2 on flightdeck, never really thought there was much use for it. I mean, if you need to know what gear you're in, look down? You oughta remember anyway...

Hey you need to put on the bar tape. Please promise me via PM that you will put on the bar tape, because if you don't, you won't have any bar tape on your bars, and that'd be bad because you're supposed to have bar tape on your bars where the bar tape goes.

This is kinda what I was thinking. Some electronic gadget to tell me what gear I'm in?

Somebody's trippin'....

Yup - it's Homeland Security. If you look up carefully you'll see what looks like a big model airplane following you around everyplace that you go. It would be good to avoid riding too close to any government buildings.

it would be rather cool if bikes had a pitot tube like planes do to measure speed, altitude, distance, etc. Hmmmmm, maybe I can sell that idea.

That is what it looks like - BUT - Flight Deck compatible levers don't come with this cable, you only get the cable (both sides) if you get the Flight Deck computer mount (which OP doesn't appear to have... since he has some other kind of computer cable on the other side of his stem).

I have a FD and I like it. Gear indicator is kind of neat but buttons under the hoods is neat too.

Bikes: Some bikes. Hell, they're all the same, ain't they?

Seems odd to have a Flight Deck cable without a computer to plug it into. Was this new, or used?
