Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Soul S 2.0 Wheelset??

Hello All, Does anyone have any experience with Soul wheels or heard anything about them? I ran across their web page and found what I thought was quality wheels. They offer several different types of wheels but I was most interested in the Soul S2.0 as they weight in at 1330 grams. I found some on-line reviews and most that have tried them seem to be very pleased. The company warranty the rims to stay true for one year. The S2.0 are light and the price is great for such a stiffl- lightweight wheelset only $470 and thats with shipping included. Soul states that the S 2.0 are suitable for everyday training or would make a great raceday wheelset. So, does anyone own a set or have any info about the Soul Wheels?
Thanks

I do not own a pair, but my friend has the 4.0's.

They are great, great wheels. He's a big dude, and the wheels do not flex at all under heavy sprints.

Own and raced the 4.0's. Trained with them as well. Hit a curb in a race, and the wheel didn't even get outta true. I almost shat my pants though.

Strong wheels and Sean is good people.

don't the S2.0 use the lighter and flimsier kinlin XR-200 rims?

How heavy are you? S4.0 has more material to stay rigid, but when you shave off weight from the rim, yet keep the spoke count low, you'll end up with flimsy.

Look into the S2.0 Max. They look pretty beefy(weight limit is 265 versus Soul's normal 210).

I weight around 185 lbs and plan on using them as my everyday wheelset, I don't do any racing but I do some fast paced group rides. I currently have the Cane Creek Volos XL which suppose to weight in at 1786 grams and like the fact that the S2.0 are much lighter. The Soul S2.0 max weight 1590 grams which is lighter than the Cane Creeks but would like the S2.0 if they have proven to be durable for training. Any suggestions?
Thanks for all the comments.

I have the 2.0 experts, which have the 3.2mm spokes. They weigh in at roughly 1470g, about 140g more than the SLs, but being 190lbs Sean suggested the wider spokes. They've been my everyday wheel set for the last 6 months. I've been pretty rough on them and they're still as true as day one.

Just received the Soul 2.0's yesterday. Hope to have them on the bike tonight.
I went with the std build, but ceramic bearings. Weighed in at 1,270g.
Adding KCNC skewers, veloplugs, GP4000s, LL tubes, SRAM Red cassette.

FWIW...there is around a 4 week waiting list for the wheels.

I have them, over 2,000 miles, 0 complaints. You can probably dig up 20 threads where I give them my seal of approval.
