Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How much do you weigh? I have the Vitesse wheels. I love them. I am currently 188 or so and have road raced and cyclocross raced these wheels. I also have Boyd Carbon tubular 38s and 50s. One of my friends has the Williams 30s and honestly, they weigh a lot more than what was advertized. Like 70 grams more without rim strips and skewers. He did have an issue with the front bearings but got them fixed.

All my Boyd wheels have come in right at weight or under. Zero issues. If I can cross race the Vitesse running Michelin Mud2s all season and still haven't trued them, I'd say they are damn near bullet proof. I will be cross racing the 50 tubulars in the fall. Currently, the Vitesse wheels have 700x25 Conti 4 season on them for all around road training.

I just noticed that you are in Boonville, IN. I am in Evansville quite a bit. You can PM me if you ever want to ride my Boyd wheels and see if you like them.

as the first post asked what do you weigh? i ride the williams system 30s now as my everyday training wheels and they do great. they are plenty stiff and roll extremely well. the only down side is the weight. if i had it to do over i would have likely bought the boyd wheels due to that fact they are lighter but im not disappointed that i didnt. either way you go i think you will be happy. call keith williams if you have any questions he is a great guy to deal with.

As someone who has no clue what kind of wheels you are talking about I feel the need to chime in on this and say that you should go with the ones that you think you will like the best.

I have the Boyd wheels and love them. And you can't beat the customer service.

I have the 30X's and they came in at exactly the advertised weight. I have had zero problems with them and would recommend them, but I have no experience with Boyd, so I cannot compare the two.

I talk to Boyd cycling today . They are going to start selling 24/28 wheelsets . Not posted on there site .
For my weight 190 to 200 . I feel this would be a better wheel set
. The down side they are 1 week out on those rims . They take 7 to 14 days to build and ship them .
