Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The white Fizik saddles stay white too. I like them.

Wash your hands before a ride. Wash the white bar tape when it gets dirty.

This is rocket science?

Many tapes do not "wash" easily. Have you ever tried to remove dirty chain grease from white cork tape?

It works very well and you don't have to get it wet to be effective. Just rub it on the soiled bar tape and it pretty much makes it look brand new, people don't think I use it or that I spend too much time cleaning the bar tape, which I don't. I discovered it while trying to remove crayon marks and colored markers on walls. Actually, a teacher I knew of told me about it when she was trying to find an easy way to clean her walls. I tried it on the bar tape and was surprised at how well it worked.

Kudos to you. So do you actually have any useful advice?

I have white tape on all my bikes. They're fairly easy to keep nice and white if you use full-fingered gloves all the time, which of course I do.

Using white tape and white seats is a stupid attempt to be trendy.

Clean the friggin' tape. It isn't rocket science. Take some sunlight, warm water, have at it. Hell use some Dove soap if you are bored or some windex.

Doesn't anyone find things out for themselves anymore or do we all just ask the people who aren't afraid to try anything?

Tape costs $10. Try cleaning the dirty tape as you are about to replace it. See what works. Not offering the simple advice of *gasp* "use soap" isn't a capital offense.
