Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikefit Differences

Okay, I know this subject is all over the forum but I really need some help. I have been fit by two different fitter's in the last two years. The last was done with Dartfish and Retul, just wanted to try out the new technology. I was looking for a little more power while climbing and doing long distances. While I have almost identical reach with both fits they are quite different. The new fit raised my saddle by 2cm and moved it forward. The reach is within a half of a cm from the previous fit. I can't really tell any change in power or comfort. My question is what is the advantage of a higher more forward position versus a lower more stretched out position?
