Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I wash them either cold in the machine, or take them into the shower with me, scrub em down and let em hang dry. The shower technique works great for rowing trou as well.

I throw everything into a delicate cycle cold/cold wash and use Dreft detergent (hypo-allergenic detergent for baby clothes), but only use that because we have a baby. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it. Only my socks go in the dryer, but they're basic running socks. My jersey and shorts hang dry.

I always thought you had to hand wash all that stuff. nice to know you can use a machine. I jump in the shower with cycling gear on. I actually have a shampoo that seems to get them really clean. I shampoo my hair then take the suds and use them to wash gear.
