Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bibs and Toilet stops

Hi

So if you are wearing bibs and you have to stop do you have to take off your jersey to unhitch the bibs? Seems like a bit of a process.

I'm sure this has been dealt with before, but I searched and couldn't find anything.

Nope, I usually can go without taking the suspenders off of my bib. Not that difficult really.

Pull down if you are male and doing no. 1.
Partially undress if you are female or doing no. 2 or both.

Sounds impossible without sh1tting yourself or stretching out your bibs.

Nope, just pull the front of them down and bring...ahem...your piece out and do your duty.

Bikes: Bianchi Champione road bike (Italian Steel), Litespeed MTB (Ti), AMP B4 full suspension MTB (alum), Yugoslobberin' Folding Bike (heavy steel)

Slip your arms out of your jersey, but not over your head (just over your shoulders).

You don't even have to take your helmet off.

Full zip jersey is even less of a bother.

Costs a few seconds of time. Worth every bit of it for the superior comfort of bibs.

I don't see a problem.

Works with all my LG bibs but have some Capos that come up a bit too high in the front. For those, I just roll up a leg and go out that way.

Anyway.

Roll up a leg (preferably the one not on the side of traffic) and piss from the saddle. No sense in even stoping if it's only #1.

There are many civilized endeavors that I might dispense with, and God created trees because boys have to go somewhere. But peeing on myself while riding ain't never gonna happen.

As for bibs, yes they are a bit more work if a deuce is the call of the day. Personally, I hate using port o johns at races or charity rides, so I try to get up early enough that all my business is taken care of at home.

Nobody in that picture seems to have rolled up a leg. I have tried and by the time things are high enough I have a pretty effective tourniquet. I need to go over the top, and usually slip one arm out the sleeve and through the strap to make things easier.

This thread has me thinking that maybe Geico has a new ad campaign brewing:

So easy, even a bicyclist can do it!

No! That's why you are supposed to wear your bib straps OVER your jersey.

No need to stop for #2 if you have one of them fancy new saddles with the hole in it.
