Sensor Placement on the front wheel

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I realize that. jonathanb715 should have too. (That's why it's a petty criticism and one that which misses the point!)

If he had said something like "yes, and there are other things that make it even more complicated", that would have been reasonable.

Keep in mind that that reference was one I provided. I also hinted in an earlier post that things might be more complicated. But to go into those complications would not have done anything about understanding the basics.

Only if you will be sitting on the bike when you wish to measure the mileage it's traveled. Otherwise, no.

Do you care about a consistent error of being about 1% too high?

Gents,

So my roll out was 2116. The Sigma manual states 700x23 = 2133. I'm going with the roll out. Good choice?

Bikes: Some bikes. Hell, they're all the same, ain't they?

Yup, go with the roll out -- because the tire is always being compressed to that size while you're riding.

Post 4 indicated the answer (which is the one Sheldon Brown also recommends).
