Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've seen some yellow leaves on the ground and a couple of denuded trees ... then, the rains came today. Pretty soon the terns will be here.

It was completely dark when I got back from my ride last night. I did it faster than I've ever done it and left at the same time as I always do.

It shall be fall soon

The only thing yellow here is the grass, and that is because of the 30+ days of >95deg heat.

What is this "fall" season you speak of? Is that when it's not balls-hot? Sounds nice.

Still damn hot here, but the 6am rides now start out in the dark, and the 6pm rides now end in the dark.

I'm looking forward to the temperature dropping under 70, at night. I think mid may was the last time this happened.

On reading the heading to start with, I thought this was a signs of fail thread:

Anyway, first day of spring here and it's miserable outside. Thankfully it's raining whilst both my bikes are broken...
