Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Garmin 305 question

I made several trips on different days without being able to download the Garmin after each ride. When I did download this is what I got. The straight line has me puzzled. Each trip was just about the same route. Any ideas on what I could have done ? Here is the link and thanks.

The only time I got something like that was when I paused it and forgot to turn it back on when I started moving again and about 5 miles later remembered and started it and had a stright line from point of pause to restart during my ride.

I have to do a soft reset - hold down lap button until it resets - between activities if I do not upload to Garmin Connect or I get this

If you don't hold the lap button down to reset the timer, it is a continuation of your previous ride. When you are starting a new ride, the timer should read 0:00.00. If it doesn't, you need to press and hold the lap button to reset the timer, if not it will add it to your previous ride. Then when you download, it will show different rides instead of one ride. I often go 10 or more rides without downloading. When you download, it automatically resets the timer, so if you download after every ride, it will do it for you.
