Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wireless Computers that use a rubber O-Ring?

I'm looking for a reasonably priced wireless bike computer while I save up for a Garmin 705. At this point I don't really need cadence or heart rate just yet. But if a good model comes with it I'm cool with that too. I like how Sigma computers use a rubber O-ring (as opposed to zip ties) to attach the computer mount and transmitter to the bike but Sigma's wireless computers seem to get less than stellar reviews for performance. Are there other brands that use O-rings?

I've been using a Sigma without incident for 3 years now.

I concur. My Sigma works just fine.

Same here. Perfect transmission and performance and the rubber O-rings work fine. It is relatively easy to knock the sensors out of position, but only by physically bumping them. Once you put them back into position they stay put despite vibration.

I have a Sigma 1106 wireless - no problems in over 2000 kms. Although replaced it with an Edge 500 recently.

Thanks guys. Went ahead and bought a couple of Sigma 1009's (one for the fiance's bike).

Thanks for the input!

yikes,my recommendation - for future viewers of this thread since the op has bought already- is the cateye strada wireless, it doesn't use o-rings but rather a little plastic screw system which is easily moveable to different bikes. Not to mention that the cateye is superior to everything
