Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

conquered another goal

This summer I set three goals. Up till now I had 2 todays ride was the third and quite possibly the toughest. First I was going to ride 2500 miles from May 1 to Oct. 1, Second I wanted to complete a century and Third I wanted to ride to my in-laws and back they live about 30 miles away and about 2000 feet higher in elevation. It was a very difficult ride with strong head winds in both directions 15-20 MPH ( I swear only in New England does the wind not know which way it wants to blow!) the ride peaks higher than my destination so I had to do a short climb before the awesome descent. Here are some pictures of Fall in Vermont, and here is a link to my ride https://ridewithgps.com/routes/184194

Congrats and cool pics! Achieving goals in cycling always feels amazing. Definitely some nice climbs in that trip too. Now it's time to set more for the rest of the year and/or next year!

Nice pics, Joseph...you're right about the wind...as I posted in the 50+ forum, I had the wind in my face yesterday going west 21.5 miles on rt. 27 out of Augusta (Maine), and all 21.5 miles east coming back.
Today was worse, quick 20 mile loop with a lot of hills, and the wind was trying to blow me backwards up every hill................

good work, i just did a nice century in ma/nh/vt up to the harpoon brewery in windsor, vt, the ride was beautiful, around 6000' of elevation gain made for a good ride too. were you anywhere near that?

question: what saddle is that on the bianchi??
