Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2013 BB30 SRAM Force is sub 2kg. And my rubber should run about 500g. And that's pretty much all that's left to add. There's also about 100 or so grams to cut going to Ti hardware if need be. Stock novatec skewers are boat anchors.

The build is looking good, I think it's smart to just be patient and do the build right. If not you will only spend more money in the long run. And hey, think of it like this....you will probably have your build done before the guy with the Cervelo gets back from the bike shop

Haha, thats right, I almost think there never was a cervelo, and its just some big ruse.

You're probably right but I just don't have that kind of patience.

After i add some Vitesse wheels i don't have any other major upgrades planned. I was to lazy to take it out of the trainer for some better scenery.

Any reason you went with a -17 degree stem and still left a huge tower of spacers. It would look so much better with a -6 degree stem and the steerer cut down a bunch.

I accidentally ordered the wrong stem. wanted a 100mm but wasnt paying attention and ordered the 120mm. Going to swap it with the 100mm version and just leave the bottom spacer and chop the steerer tube with only one spacer on top.

My bike fell down (with me on it) and now it shifts like crap. The LBS says it's the derailleur hanger, but I'm not sure about that. He straightened it out with the gauge tool, but its still bad. The lowest two gears sound like a freight train. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Check the alignment. The derailleur might be bent too.

You're one of the few people that have this particular color scheme. For whatever reason I do not see this one often. Looks good!

I took it back to the LBS today. The hanger needs replacing (no part in stock) but he did tweak some things. Overall it's better, but I'm still getting some chain on chain guard rub when in the lowest 3 gears. He's says it's normal due to the angle, but I think it should be quiet through all of the gears. Thoughts?

Did you look at the bike from behind and see if the derailleur is lined up vertically with the cassette? What are you referring to when you say "chain guard"?

it does align. I asked the tech to double check. i meant the front derailleur, not the chain guard. he adjusted it, but I'm not convinced that there should be any clanging on a 105 group regardless of the chain angle. he seemed to know what he was doing and I had him on it for 1/2 hr.

On my 2013 CAAD 10 5 with the 105 group, I get derailleur chain rub when I'm on the largest chain ring and first (largest) cog. I believe that this is normal and expected.

I have the same bike and mine does the same thing, I haven't played with the front derailleur yet but looks like its the norm to me as we'll.

Are you using your trim? With shimano you have to trim when you cross chain.

Yes, but mine does it in the first 3 cogs when in the big ring, surely that can be adjusted on this bike right? I'm ok with just 1, but 3 doesn't seem right. This is my first double though so who knows.
