Looks like some parts were swapped out, namely all the things that start with "Bontrager". I think they're equivalent quality, so I wouldn't worry about it. The seat is an improvement over the original. Based on the graphics on the wheels, I'd guess that it's a later production 2009. I'd go with the bid start price.

That's really not a bad price. Mine is an '09 CAAD 9-6, and while it looks like some things have been swapped out like the saddle, the rest of the bike looks like OEM equipment. Play it right and you should be able to get it well below the Buy It Now price. Remember, once people start bidding, the BIN will go away (I think?)
**edit
it does look like they've swapped out the seat post and saddle. I cant tell about the stem, re-taped the bars. If you want any of these OEM parts I still have them off my bike.
good luck bidding!!

Tiagra is plenty good enough to start off with and will last you until you can upgrade "if" you want to.
I can tell you that the Tiagra rear derailleur is on par with 105 and is buttery smooth.
For about $20. you can get a new Tiara front derailleur and that's all you'd NEED.
As is, it's a very solid deal. If it fits you, I'd jump on it right away.
See if he'd include shipping for free if you buy it now.
The cockpit is a definite upgrade from OEM stuff (and probably took a good 1/2 a pound off of the bike).

Someone's going to smell that deal and jump on it.
Just a used frameset alone is going for about $550. average.
For $150. more, he'll have a rolling bike.
BUY!

There are numerous reviews about how poor the RS10s are in quality. I've had two spokes break on the rear wheel within two weeks, one of which was on a century ride. Luckily it stayed true enough that I could finish the ride. I replaced the RS10s (still on warranty at the time) for the RS20s. The RS20s are a much better ride and hold up so much better. I've had zero problems with them. I wouldn't use the RS10s again if someone gave them to me for free, even as a training wheel.

Caad10 arrived today, didn't build it up yet. Slick little bike though, the welds look a lot better than people said they did.

I recently got into a bike crash where a car pulled out in front of me. I was going 22+ mph and the front wheel (my new RS20's) took the majority of the hit. The front wheel wasn't even out of true, but I can't imagine what the RS10's would have looked like had I still been riding them. The RS20's should make a good training set and they look good too.

Congrats on your new bike! Am waiting for mine to arrive as well and it has been an agonizing two weeks already LOL. Just curious how long did you wait from the time you ordered coz I don't want to bug my LBS on a constant basis.

hey 2ndGen, you have an aliante carbon right? is it 2010 or 2011 version? im asking because i want to know the difference in each. i asked the shop guy and he said the color design and less padding than last year...can you confirm this, or anybody here with an aliante? thanks!

I didn't even know that the 2011 would be different.
I haven't heard anything, but hold on...
Did a quick search. Maybe the only differences are color "options"
for the rails, but everything else seems to be the same.

oh, thanks! if i end up going aliante, ill probably get the kium rails. have you tried the gamma? im wondering if the nosing has more padding than the aliante carbon 2010...i know this isnt the place to ask but it will if my bike is equipped with one! on your signature is that your bike profile cuz it doesnt look like an aliante is seated right now...did you switch out already?

That's not my bike in the profile, but here's a pic of my bike with my saddle.

I've only used the carbon-railed Twin Flex Aliante.
The Aliante line pretty much feels the same from what I've read,
but it's in long distance riding where the carbon rails comfort is a factor.

. Mine came with white bar tape. The all black is cool though. I kind of want some red highlights but not sure I want red bar tape. Red rims would be cool though. What fork is that? Not stock is it?

Hey, I'm just a noob here but even I know the photo rules and that's not following 'em. Also, sweet ride. Looks rather familiar

I'm going to upgrade it though to an Edge 2.0 Fork.
How's this for following the rules?

Bikes: Cannondale CAAD 10 5
Due in some part to this thread I just had my LBS order my first road bike: CAAD10-5 in Jet Black. It'll be coming in with his season's order in early January but the deal was worth it. Now to wait.

please!
