What makes it cool is that its different than any other Cadd10 out there. Looks pretty nice to me and painting is quite a challenge to get perfect unless you're a pro painter with access to a paint booth. I'd still like to know where you had the Cannondale stickers made up? My Caad10 is all black and I'm thinking about adding some graphics?

Second that. I'd love to know where I could pickup some decals.

friend of mine who specializes in car vinyl cut me up some decals. Any competent sign or sticker place should be able to mock things up for u guys though. And as you know, vinyl comes in like zillions of colors =) . Thanks for the kind words!

I am torn, Love it but I might have left the Vinyl off?
then again I've always been drawn to subliminal markings

Fantastic work! Did you use a rattle can or a paint sprayer? I'm about to do some painting of my one on my CAAD9. I'm just doing research right now and what process I should follow...

dvdslw 11-11-15 06:30 PM

Finally decided on some new wheels! Ended up with the Easton ec90sl's which are 38mm deep, 28mm wide, 19mm inside bead width, 16/20 spoke count, 1,400g, and the only carbon clincher that is currently "certified" road tubeless, not tubeless ready like DT Swiss, Bontrager, Reynolds, etc.... Got them today and mounted them up tubeless with the 700x25 Fusion 3's transferred from my Ultegra's so I could do an apples to apples comparison with the new wheels and they look/feel great. I only had 30 minutes to take them out before dark but they rolled very nice with no brake rub under power, braking was way better than I remember the Reynolds ever being, and the hub sounds similar to a Cris King but half as loud. Although I've been drooling over the Aero55's for the last few years I decided to get the shallower 38's based on recent test rides with the 41mm Assaults and 62mm Strikes which left me favoring the lighter Assaults based mostly on feel but also the fact that unless I'm going downhill I never get up to the speeds where the 55's would really shine. Anyway, I'm excited about the new wheels and wanted to share a few pictures and let you fellow Caad10 riders know that a 28mm wide rim with a 25c tire has plenty of clearance front and rear. I'll post over on the regular forum after putting some real miles in for a proper review and with the Horrible Hundred this weekend I should know what I'm working with.

I want to thank everyone who posted to this thread. You've convinced me to go CAAD for my first road bike. Closeout 2015 CAAD10 frameset in anodized gray/red. Waiting on some odds and ends to arrive before I can begin the build with my Dad. I am lucky in that he is going to donate a bunch of his Ultegra 10 speed parts to this project. Should be fun, very excited to ride this once it's all together.

Excellent choice! Have fun with the build and even more fun on the finished bike!

** i have a decal set in WHITE, any body wanna buy this? (2 forks, 2 downtubes, 2 seat tubes (caad10) , 1 TT stripe)

Changes color a lot which is cool to me. 10 feet away this thing is pretty neat, but 10 inches away bleh

Amazing build!! What's the size of the frame and the stem? And what about your height and saddle height. You look good on that frame.

haha thanks. The build has been the same for the majority of 4 years, and is pretty hodge podged. Appreciate the comments for sure! The frame is 50cm , the stem is 115mm -10deg. heigh is 5'7' and my saddle height is 693mm from bb cc to top of the saddle through middle of ST. The bike has a 15mm bearing cover.

Has anyone upgraded their CAAD 10 to 11 speed? I lost my rear derailleur to a road hazard (again) and I thought about doing the upgrade until I realized it was going to be more than a cassette and a r derailleur. It's also f derailluer, shifters, chain, cables, and crankset.
1. Is it necessary to upgrade everything as I spelled out?
2. How significant was performance upgrade? Was it worth it?

fastk9dad 11-22-15 09:31 PM

I joined the cult today with the purchase of a 2015 CAAD10 Ultegra 3 in team colors. The LBS just happened to have this one left over tucked away in storage, they were even surprised to find it! Anyway it rode like a dream and it wants to be rode fast and hard!

Spent the evening removing all the reflectors, dork disk, the lawyer stickers and putting on all my accessories, not to mention polishing her up. Still need to order bottle cages. Will be getting the Elite Cannibal cages, in either black/white or black/green. For now I just threw on a flat black cannibal from my other bike. Can't wait to get out on the road again!

One decal I couldn't get off was the warning sticker at the bottom of the down tube. Everything else peeled right off but that one didn't seem to want to budge. I didn't try very hard but usually a couple of hits with my finger nail will lift a corner to peel, this one seems to be on good. It's not cleared over is it? Thankfully it's not very noticeable, but I'd rather remove it if possible.

No photos yet, need to get some outside this week.

I haven't done it, but do want to at some stage switch my 105 out for Athena. That's obviously a full group switch.

In your case, to go to 11 speed, cassette, shifters, rear derailleur, and chain are a must. You should also verify that your rear wheel is 11 compatible; a lot that came with 10 speed groups aren't. Depending on your model of front derailleur, you might be able to get away with the right cable pull. There are plenty of threads on here by people who've used 10 speed chainrings with 11 speed groups to no ill effect, so I wouldn't worry about that. And I'd say you only need cables if the ones you have are ready for replacement, but your new shifters will probably come with cables anyway.

In April I traded my 2006 CAAD 8 in on a new endurance bike. I loved it, but I have aged since I bought it and am doing longer rides at a slower pace. It was a sad parting, but I love the new bike. Move forward to this past week. My son has decided to start riding. I have been looking at entry level bikes and was ready to pull the string. Friday I went by the LBS to pick up some stuff and saw the CAAD still hanging in the back. They had not processed it for used sales. I bought it for what I got in trade.

I put some new tires on it and took it out for a ride. They really are so sweet. I am really excited to have it back in the family. My son is getting twice the bike for half the price and it is worthy of upgrading, if he want to do it. Now I am contemplating getting him the entry level bike and keeping the CAAD (j/k).

i did.....

1. depending on what groupset.... sram red RD 10speed vs 11 speed no difference
2. 11speed chainrings
3. Shifters
4. FD is allegedly different. I did swap it out, but some say it works.... not sure.
5. cassette is needed.
6. New hub bodies on 10 speed wheels and re dish, if your wheels are not 11speed compatible.

what do u deem 'performance' , when adding 1 gear? ..... i dont regret going 11 speed. Does it make me faster? no.

Turns out that an upgrade from 10 to 11 speed is a significant upgrade with dubious payback. My 11 speed upgrade will have to wait for my next road bike.
