Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Your shiny black CAAD10 has got to be easier to keep clean than my white CAAD9 . . .

So that's what 404's would look like on my bike.
That looks about right.
Nice!

Geesh. Forgive me for "not" remembering what you bike you rode.

Have you completely missed where I wrote that the CAAD10 was better than the CAAD9?
Kind of hard to believe you read EVERY post here.
Either that, or your reading comprehension sucks.

Dude, Crash has given some of the best input to your thread, he's provided a quality/objective review of the 9 and the 10. Chillax. I browse this thread from time to time as an increasingly big fan of my 10, and I knew what he rides.

Bikes: 26" Magna from Target!

I want to drink the kool aid!

I test rode the CAAD 105 and the Rival a few weeks ago and was going to make the plunge but it was right after Memorial Day and I missed some sales that some of the LBS were doing so I've held off waiting and wondering if LBS's will have special for the 4th of July.

Does anyone know if LBS usually do sales/discounts on the 4th of July? If not my holding off could be in vain..

Most importantly what's the status on the frames strength? Any cracking? I'm 215 lbs (Could stand to lose 25lbs) and wondering if the are any issues with the frame breaking.

too bad they dont have the CAAD10-Rival anymore.....Just gives people more reason to build one with Force or Red.

You're not going to break it by riding it (and being 215), if thats what you're asking

When the 2012s come out, anyone think I can find a CAAD10 1 for a deal?

What do you mean they don't have the CAAD 10-Rival anymore?

I'd like to know if LBS usually do 4th of July sales/specials? Does anyone know if most typically do?

A) LBS's always look for an excuse to have a sale. Talk to a salesman. Tell him you're ready to pull the trigger on a CAAD10, but are looking for the best deal so you can buy accessories too (doesn't mean you "have to" buy the accessories at the time you buy the bike. It just wets the salesman's appetite a bit that if he/she works with you, you'll be loyal and come buy you accessories from them).

B) I don't see your weight being an issue with a CAAD10. The only issues I've read about is the BB30. Of course, this is it's first year of production with a new manufacturer in Asia. They may need time to fine tune their skills. You should be okay either way because Cannondale has a great warranty.

There are always deals. You just gotta hunt them down.

Another question, awesome stealth black aside... does anyone feel that the Caad10 1 is not that great a deal? Are the components worth the extra grand over the Caad10 3? I still have to get back in to test ride the 3, but the 1 was heavenly. Like lightning.

2ndGen, tnx for posting the pics. Always good to see more!

Reesh, I think you'll always be able to find a deal out there, but it'll be a little while before you can get a CAAD10 for a steal since they're the latest (and greatest as some have argued.)
