Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That is always the best excuse for buying something big. Nice setup!

The CAAD10 is sold as a frameset. It's about $1000 or $1100 MSRP. Some shops will sell a little lower. Only 10-5 colorways are available.

If it wasnt for the ugly ass welds I would have buy one many years ago.

They can be bought as a frame (caad10) from a dealer?

I was hoping to get in to a 2012, but it appears all of them are sold out in my area. I believe the 2013 models are starting around $1550. How is that as far as pricing? I'm located in S. Florida. Appreciate any help! Thanks.
I just joined as well. Exact same bike I am looking at. I've been quoted $1530, or more, I spotted a pricing SNAFU at a LBS. I'm curious as to what the more local store can do, although probably the same.

I noticed the talk about the 54. This is the same size I'm looking at (I'll have a better idea when I can compare a 54 and 56 side by side), although I'd understand the skepticism of dealing with a forum newbie.

ENVE SES 6.7. Very unscientific but same heart rate is producing speeds 2-3 mph faster. Over 25 my heart rate was 10 bpm less than non aero wheels.

I bought my 2013 CAAD 10 5 for $1400 at Paragon Sports in NYC with the 10% Transportation Alternatives (TA) discount. It was my second road bike purchase because my first purchase was on Craigs List and was too large for me. Expensive lesson to shop your LBS unless you really know what your doing. Paragon gave me a professional fit and I've logged about 500 miles since 10/1. My longest ride was 55 miles. I couldn't be happier.

In addition to TA, in NYC there are some bike clubs and non-profits that offer discounts or trade-in discounts (Recycle a Bicycle). Perhaps you can find similar arrangements in your area.

The bike is mostly stock. I replaced the saddle with a Specialized Romin EVO Comp. I plan on replacing the tires w/ Continental Grand Prix 4 Season 700x25 and Kool Stop brake shoes for winter riding. Other than the frame and Shimano 105 kit, the components on this bike are pedestrian but serviceable. I thought I would just replace as needed (saddle replacement was needed after first ride, not enough of a cutout for my 50 year old stones on the stock saddle!). This is what my baby looks like:

$1400 for a CAAD10 4 isn't bad at all! I wonder if I can talk my LBS down to that. Or perhaps they could just throw in some Speedplays for the $1530 I was quoted.

$1400 for a CAAD 10 5, not CAAD 10 4. The 4 has SRAM Rival, the 5 is mostly Shimano 105. Here's my favorite CAAD 10 5 YouTube, enjoy the Jenglish!

Oh man. Third post and I already thought something different than I typed.

Enjoyable video. I've been watching all the Youtube videos I can until I have the bike in my possession!

It's only a frame module. So it's the frame, fork, crankset & BB, stem, headset, NEW front Rival derailleur, and seatpost. I have some bars I can throw in too.

Never thought I'd be posting in this thread, but I joined the cult on Sunday. I recently sold my Trek Equinox TT bike and have been shopping hard for a new road bike for the last couple months. Caads weren't even on my radar as they were a little out of my price range, but I stopped in a local shop that I didn't even know sold Cannondales ('12 was their first year carrying them) and they had one 2012 left and it was my size (56) in team paint. Never dreamed of owning one of these but the thing fit like a glove and at $999 +tax I couldn't pass it up.

Congrats on the new ride, it looks sweet. I think you got it for a sweet price too.

Agreed, that's what I got my 2012 CAAD8-6 for almost a year ago, and that was after a club membership. Really goes to show the benefits of buying previous year bikes.

Sweet. I love the team colors and just paid $1100.00 for mine so that's a smokin deal!

I paid $1600 for the same bike a while back and it's such a good bike I would still pay that much today. Although mine now has more money in upgrades than the original price of the bike by a big margin.
