Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have a CAAD7. That's the headset I'm replacing. But I'm interested in later models, also, most specifically the CAAD10.

Um, you got me. I think so, but not 100% sure. It's an R700 if that helps. How do I know?

I have a Caad7 (R700), mine is a 2005, it is the burnt orange color. What color is your bike. Below are the specs, the bike pictured is the one I have, the other colors for the model are listed.

Patriot Blue. It says blue, but that is the exact color.

EDIT: Ooops, it does say patriot blue, ... I stopped when I saw the first Blue.

Okay, well if this is the bike you have the headset size is in the specs, save the spec sheet, it has been helpful to me as I bought my bike used.

Thanks. So would any 45/45 Campy FSA headset do the trick? And hopefully without replacing the crown race seat?

So some years are 1 1/8" and other years 1 1/4"? Are they all threadless integrated headsets?

Yes it is 1 1/8 -1 1/4. I was posting in another thread on another forum about carbon road disk forks and had too many numbers in my head.

No, he is saying that the HT tapers from 1 and 1/8" to 1 and 1/4". In previous versions is was just a straight 1 and 1/8".

Cause it's a 58, that's why.

52-56s go for more…that's just the way it is.

I had a short lived gulf-colored caad10 (56cm) that I was able to sell for almost $1300, just the frameset. I threw in the OEM C3 bar, stem, and seatpost because I didn't need it anyway.

Bikes: '12 CAAD10 3, '88 Raleigh Talon

Well, after looking at road bikes for 4 years, I've finally pulled the trigger. I purchased her yesterday, and spent the evening practicing clipping in and out. Took her around the neighborhood today for a quick 35 degree ride. The bike shop I purchased from only does bike fittings during the week, so hopefully I can go out there tomorrow and get fitted. With compliant weather, I've scheduled a ride with a friend for Tuesday!

2012 Cannondale CAAD10 3
Shimano 6700 Pedals
Shimano SH-R077

I know I may not "deserve" this bike, but I was looking to make an investment for several years. This should curb my desire to upgrade for quite some time. The shoes and pedals were not what I originally intended, but in the store, I figured I'd save some money here and upgrade shoes at a later date when these wear out. The shoes and pedals were 50% off, otherwise I probably would be on Speedplay right now. Or, saving for a set of pedals and shoes.

I know it's not the best picture, and I apologize. This is just a phone picture I took to commemorate the moment.

Thank you!

Congrats on a nice bike. Of course you deserve it, you worked and earned your money and you bought the bike you wanted. No need to justify it to anyone.

I think I have the same shoes. I actually had bought two pairs of those a few seasons back and kept the black ones as spares (I think they came to something like 70 bucks) the first pair (white/silver) lasted me three seasons and I only started wearing the black ones (same that you have) a few months ago.

Expect the uppers to loosen up a bit as you break them in (it's leather, it happens). I would recommend a pair of insoles (something simple, foam based) to make up for the broken-in leather.

They're going to last you, and they're actually pretty great shoes in the summer (you'll learn to appreciate the vent at the bottom)

Enjoy the hell out of that bike, I'm on a USA CAAD9 (from the last year they were made state side) and I absolutely love the frame, the CAAD10 is nothing short of awesomeness too!
