caad10-4. everything is stock. look keo 2 max carbon. about 18.2 pounds. 52cm. wont be upgrading for a long, long time. alright BF start ripping and tell me whats wrong so i can conform to your prestigious standards. does anyone think that the cable housing from the rear derailleur should be longer?

Not bad first try. I think bike wise, only thing is you need to cut the steer. Picture wise, you have a long ways to go, and it starts with a white garage door. :)

Beautiful bike though. I'm totally jealous. I called around the local shops the other day and only one place has a 10 in stock, but they haven't even built it yet. Supposed to be done this week and I'm gonna go check it out. :)

dykim90, If the rear is shifting okay, then then the RD cable is fine. While cutting the steerer tube to dump the spacers will improve aesthetics, spend some time in the saddle before you do.

@dykim90 You might want to upgrade the wheels as the RS10 don't usually get good reviews and you'll probably end up switching out that saddle. I wanted a black caad10 but my LBS wasn't going to be able to get one until late Nov. so I got a white one.

You're going to love it! :thumb:

i like the paint schemes for the 10, but much prefer the lines of the 9. keep the 10 pics coming boys. later.

- tyflip - Do you know the owner or just found it on the internet? that bike came from Get a grip in chicago. that's the shop I go to.

I'm going back and forth whether I want a CAAD10 or Supersix-105 as my next bike.

tyflip2 10-13-10 12:31 PM

Unfortunately I dont know the owner, i just stumbled across the picture on the internet. I love that frame though, do you know if they still sell them at Get a Grip?

i doubt they have any CAAD9s left over. From what I remember from my buddy inquiring about the shop team. Is that the bikes are ordered for the team / sponsored riders. You could always call and ask I suppose.

I remember they have a CAAD9 frame hanging up in the irving park location, but I dunno if they would sell it...

Just google get a grip chicago and you'll find them. I'm going to have to ask the guys in the shop whose bike that is, now I'm curious.

VA_Esquire 10-13-10 01:01 PM

what is the wheelset? how much does it weigh?

6700, open pro/240, pro vibe7s, you know, standard stuff. have a set of reynolds assault carbon clinchers for days when i'm feeling particularly saucy.

no plans on upgrading for a long time.

Why? The 9 is still far from obsolete...

The bike looks like it might be a bit stiffer in the headtube and have a little more compliance at the stays, but I doubt you'd notice. Especially if you're not pushing the envelope in sprint power.

gundom66 10-13-10 02:31 PM

Excuse my lack of knowledge on modern day bikes, but what are the differences between CAAD and Carbon overall? I was just wondering since I see that these CAAD's can be as minimal on weight as the CF's. I've never ridden both and my last road bike that I actually rode on it was over 20 years ago. Thanks :)

I dunno, I just like the way they look and it's a half pound or so lighter. I'm sure I could dump my CAAD9 frame for a decent price. I probably won't do it but it's tempting.

For anybody interested, here is a CAAD9 being sold in CO Springs for $700. Looks like a 2009 CAAD9-6. White with Reddish lettering. Just figured I'd share for anybody looking for a complete bike or a bike they can tear down and build back up how they want.

Stripped and sold everything within 24 hours of buying the bike. Now the wait begins.

not sure if its all right this is the place but, with a stock caad9 premium fork, will cutting it really make a difference in weight? right now i have a big nub like dykim90, aesthetically i was going to get it cut, my shop said they could do it...any recommendations about this? is this usually done through the bike shop where you purchased? the guy said i could bring it in anytime to get it cut. also seat post, but he said it was more difficult because it may damage frame if not cut correctly...is this a risk i should take or is this done regularly? i just wanted to get rid of unwanted weight and also to make it look better without the numb from spacers...thanks!

Just picked this puppy up last night with a test toupe, if I like it I'll go black for the permanent saddle. 16.8lbs by the tried and trusted bathroom scales weighing method.

Neat, flattened chain and seat stays, vertically yada, while horizontally blah:

Beefed up down tube/head tube connection:

Tapered seat tube/BB interface

Can't wait to get a shake down ride in. Replaced stock wheels and saddle, tires don't excite me much, but I have a set of PR3's that are itching to go on there.

aham23 10-16-10 10:13 AM

^^^^ that is nice. later.

2ndGen 10-16-10 10:27 AM

All nice rigs. ^^^^^

Here's my nearly completed CAAD9.
Only need seat post, wheelset, brakes & pedals.
(some pics may be re-posts, but still purdy!)
Besides the crank & cassette, all Dura Ace,
FSA K-Wing, Bonty XXX Race Lite Stem,
Fizik Microtex w/Gel and Aliante Carbon.

If it doesn't everything we know about the universe is wrong.

ya i know but if cutting 1" off, does that really make a difference? i'm clueless obviously but wanted to know if its worth the 'how many grams' there are in that piece of carbon...:P thanks

It's begging for a climb up Marin. Excellent pickup Beaker. Sooner.
