Now you've got me thinking "hmm, probably have better fitness than when we did Marin last year, CAAD likely better power transfer than my Roubaix..." gah. So screwed.

I have to say, after a short shake down ride this afternoon the frame really does seem to reward hard efforts. Fun times ahead.

I'm just on a self loathing hiatus. It will return, oh yes.

That's some serious cool hydroform action going on.

How come C'dale isn't using the wishbone-style stays anymore? Looks like the Caad10 has straight stays...

Thanks for that vid CJ.

Made me respect the CAAD10, but made me LOVE my CAAD9 even more.
If I were going to upgrade from my C9, I'd go up to a high quality carbon frameset.
Kind of reminds me of the upgrade from 105 to Ultegra thread.
Why bother from going to a great frame to a slightly better frame.
I might as well go from a great frame to a really great frame.

I think the CAAD10 is going to have just as strong a following as the C9 has developed.

Cannondale does it again! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meLpuF9UMvk
(No "Handmade In Taiwan" stickers on the seat stays? :D )

Beaker 10-18-10 07:29 PM

So long as you realize that high end CF is even more likely to have a "Made in Taiwan" sticker

Really?

Parlee?
Trek?
Pinarello?
Colnago?
Time?

Their "high end" carbon frames are made in Taiwan?

Beaker 10-18-10 07:40 PM

Yup. Anyway, back to the CAADs.

You all may get an additional (BF famous) member this Fall... Glad he isn't getting a BMC...

;)

There's been a whole bunch of threads on this over the years, I believe most Pinarello's are now Asian built frames, as are most Madones now. I'll give you calfee, parlee, crampon...but my point is a lot of really good high end frames are from Asia. I have no problem with this.

I thought the Trek 5 and 6 series bikes were still made in usa. The new 4 series bikes are made in asia.

There's no point in using "most" because the only exceptions to your point are the high end. madones, ulteams, etc.

that little correction being made though, I'm with you. Giant TCR advanced: Mainland China, Pinarello Dogma: Taiwan, Orbeas, S-Works, all but a handful of companies' top end frames are made in asia and that 25 year old thai woman lays carbon tube joints just as well as Jean Luc Cyfac.

CityCycle here in Jax,Fl had CAAD9 frames for $500 while they last.......

Trek and Pinarello's best frames are made in America and Italy.
That's what I'd consider their "high end" frames.

I have no doubt that Asia makes good high end frames.
But besides the others mentioned, Trek, Colango, Time and
Pinarello's high end frames (my def: best) are NOT made in Asia.

Nnnnow, back to CAADs...

:)

Can't wait to get a shake down ride in. Replaced stock wheels and saddle, tires don't excite me much, but I have a set of PR3's that are itching to go on there.

The Pedaler ^_^ Definitely one of the most camouflaged bike shops I have ever seen. When I first went in there I would have never guessed they had so many nice bikes in there.

Awesome.. both good looking bikes.

Here's my CAAD9-4 the day I bought it. Originally never thought of going Cannondale, was looking at higher priced bikes actually.. Pinarello, BMC..

Fell in love with the black caad9-4, problem was I couldn't find it in my size so rather reluctantly I ended up coming home with red. It's grown on me.. plus red is faster right?

This is my first road bike, been riding fixed for a year or so, but after hitting some high speeds decided I want to climb and descend more. I hit 45.2 mph the other day and it was awesome!

Upgrades so far is just a Dura Ace cassette.

Planned:
Wheelset (still undecided)
Carbon bars
Maybe red hoods
Black skewers (everything on this bike is red/black except silver skewers???)
