That's what I'd consider their "high end" frames. I have no doubt that Asia makes good high end frames. But besides the others mentioned, Trek, Colango, Time and Pinarello's high end frames (my def: best) are NOT made in Asia. |
alright guys... back to CAADs, enough nonsense about COO.

"Made in" doesn't necessarily mean the entire bike was constructed in that country. If the majority of the value of the bike was added in a particular nation, the bike is claimed to be made in said nation i.e. the frame was constructed in Taiwan but painted, and assembled in France, and if the majority of the bike's worth was added in France, the bike is said to be made in France. The majority of frames are constructed in Asia nowadays. There are articles all over the place regarding this.

hate to perpetuate, but this is wrong. dogma/prince/etc. are made in asia and sent to Treviso for paint/finish
Last I read, Dogmas were being manufactured in Italy. (Maybe that's why their breaking so much lately.) |

 Agreed SkyeC. CAAD10 welds vs CAAD9: http://www.roadcyclinguk.com/uploads...dium/10069.jpg http://i1108.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1287534097 What do you guys think? America did it better? |

The Pedaler ^_^ Definitely one of the most camouflaged bike shops I have ever seen. When I first went in there I would have never guessed they had so many nice bikes in there.
They were literally my local bike store for a while (by proximity) but I still go back there for all bricks/mortar purchases, despite it being a 20-25min drive from home and longer from work. I love that they are low key and super low pressure - I've lost count of the number of times I've been in there and they've given me free advice (sometimes free stuff) and talked me out of stuff I don't need. The CAAD10 was the second bike I'd bought from them and I'd love to buy another. The stealth look and constant presence of at least two lazy labs/retrievers just adds to the ambience. |
Let's see if they show up better in white:

still waiting on my LBS to get their CAAD10s in stock. They have a full size run on order, but other than that, have no real idea when they will get them in stock. It would be possible for me to special order one, and possibly get it faster, but I'm hoping to test ride both a 58 and a 60 to see which one fits better...
and so I wait... |

Aren't the CAAD10's selling supposedly for about the same as curren't CAAD9's?
Weren't they actually supposed to go DOWN in price when the Canadian company that bought them began manufacturing them overseas with far cheaper labor? |
My friend brought his scale over My CAAD9 came in at 16.9 lbs w/ pedals and cages on. WOOT

Exactly. BTW...that CAAD3 frame was the one where Cippolini looked into the camea afer breaking the Giro stage win record and said, "Cannondale makes the best bikes."
I have the 1996 CAAD3 M500 (pic in sig below) its a mountain bike racer as i like to call it. People still walk over to the bike and admire it on our group rides. Its a solid Hard Tail that rides like a road racer on roads. Its fast! and reliable and refuses to break! |

CAAD10 owners, do you notice the same with your frames in comparison to the C9's? Or could this just be a few bad apples that are photographed? :) |

I'm lovin' the shape, but the welds aren't as clean as the American made frames.

What I'm questioning is the craftsmanship of the builders. |

Just joined - my first post!
The wife and I picked up a pair of 2010 CAAD9's. I got the 9-5 with the 105 setup. Only have about 60 miles on it, but so far I'm impressed with how fast it is! Now I just need to find a more comfortable saddle.
