Best of luck my friend. I'll switch to your original thread for follow up.

Slynk,

I'm from Westchester myself.
Just curious, where'd you get the C10?
Not Danny's, right?

Anyway, I feel like I've eaten way too much of this thread's time, so I'll post any additional updates in the separate thread, linked above. Thanks again all.

Hey, don't sweat it...anything CAAD is always welcomed in this thread. :thumb:
I'll follow up with you on your thread though.

Danny's is indeed the closest shop to me, but no - I got it from Piermont, across the river. Their ebay selling program is awesome!

I got my Trek at Danny's.
I used to go there when "Danny" actually owned it 30 years ago.
If they sold Cannondale, I would've gotten my CAAD from them.
:)

Getting homesick now.
I'm missing Westchester. :(
But! I have this to compensate...

As promised the completed build. I didn't take the time for all the bike pron details, but you get the idea. Maybe not super hot, more like the girl next door. You know you'd ride it ;-)

That's more a SRAM vs Shimano argument.
The SRAM for $1200., The Ultegra for $1,500.
Or, a brand new leftover 105 for around $1200. with a lifetime warranty.
Both are great bikes, but very overpriced in my opinion.
But, it's NY/NJ...they are expecting you to negotiate.

If you were going to spend that much however, I'd buy brand new.
You're really not saving much in the grander scheme of things,
and you're missing out on all the benefits of being an original owner.

Even the view outside of my window while I'm on my trainer is nice.
It was a life-change for me. I love New York, but I'm very happy where
I'm at now. In fact, it reminds me a lot of P.R..

Just brought her home and took it for a spin around the block before the sun goes down. Can't wait to really get out there with it!

AZ! Beautiful!

But that Crankset! It's gotta go!
Throw an Ultegra SL set at least
(cheap, gorgeous, lighter).

Other than that, she's beautiful!

I might get a 2012 CAAD10-5 soon and want to know which color (black vs white/green/blue) looks better in your own opinion and why would you choose it?

Velo_Tut 02-09-12 11:55 AM

2ndGen, which brakes are those? I'm looking to upgrade my Tektro brakes for something lighter and with better performance. I think the brakes you pictured above are in the $300- range, are they not?

ChuBikes 02-09-12 12:41 PM

What's a great price right now for a 2012 CAAD10 105? I don't want to get ripped off.

Or even cheaper for the exact same product branded as Mr Control (I have them on my CAAD9)

Actually the linked brakes are forged, not CNC. Probably stronger than CNC but a few grams heavier.

It's not the best pic, but it will have to do for now.

I love black, but those team colors are growing on me.
Tough choice for me. I'd go with the white one.
