That's an excellent price. Would you regret it though when Dura-Ace 9000 starts rolling-out in a few months?

Not sure I would want to invest in the new group. If releasing a new group means the price of 7900 will come down then in that sense I may regret it.
but it was new and not tested yet with real world miles. So I waited. I'm glad I did too considering what DA9000 is about to unleash. :D |
Yes both of those tapes do clean up well. I found these cages on E-bay. I'm not sure if you want to go with the red it has in it, but it matches my CAAD 9 scheme very well. I may order mine soon. Glad you like the bike..

That's the only thing that concerns me about white tape. I've seen it get grimy pretty quick. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for the trade offer, but I'm looking at a Fizik saddle. I forget which model it is. The bottle cages are Bontrager cages, got em on clearance when I bought the bike. They were $14 a piece, so nothing fancy. Later on I might try to get some in a brighter white to match the Cannondale logo better. Overall, I'm really happy with this bike. I don't think you can beat it for the price. |

There was actually some really good practical info at the end of that thread from Psimet I wanted to re-read, it's a shame it's gone. |

Very sexy! The stem swap made a big difference. I like how its coordinated with the fork too.
Once it's completed (and we get a nice day), I'm going to put in some miles on it to see if it's better than the Bonty stem I removed. If it is, it stays. If not, I'm going to match the Bonty to the CAAD9's BBQ finish with Cannondale Factory Paint and it goes back on; aesthetics be damed. If the Edge survives, the Bonty will go to CL or eBay. I'm thinking about taking off the wheel decals next. I don't know. Every time I blacken something on it, whatever is left on it that is "not" black stands out more. Grrr. |
All you need 2Gen is an Edge seatpost. That would totally do it!!!
Oh yeah!!! She's a beaut!!! That stem by the way looks way better Than the bonty stem! IMHO.

The Edge/Enve is nice, but there is not much gain in weight savings (even cut) and the clamping system might not support my rail system (7X9 carbon). I'm married to the Fizik Cyrano post. It'll be a perfect combination with the saddle I have coming in.

And not only do logos ruin the aesthetics of a bike, but you also become a walking billboard. Do away with them! I've been thinking of removing the decals because they look so busy on an otherwise austere build. On the other hand, I have pics with my "plain" Mavic CXP22's and the bike almost looks too plain. I changed my goal from being murdered-out to finding a balance between the black & silver. I'm going to look into having custom decals made up (maybe something to match the frame's lettering design which matches the fork's and the stem's and the tire's style). |
Can't decide what color 10-5 I like better, help!
