Under some circumstances, it is appropriate to discuss new cycling products -- so long as you have spent no less than 3 hours exploring the company website, all other forums, and the rest of the internet to make sure what you were going to ask wasn't already posted.

It is always OK to start a thread whining about repetitive threads. Although you'll see many of them, threads complaining about repetition are not considered repetitive, nor are single word posts that have been used hundreds or even thousands of times.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you

This thread is destined to find it's way to foo where it can sit right next to my "How to not read a thread" thread.

Winter "trainer" color options.... Now there's a good thread... Quite likely un-searchable.

Banerjek, nice thread btw [as the kids say...]

If I have a question someone's asked before, can I post it in this thread?

If you had done a quick search, you would have found these threads, making this one unnecessary.

I'm new to cycling and to this forum but after reading some of the threads here I'm afraid to ask anything.

Everything has been discussed to death. All that is left is insulting the OP. Eventually, all the insults will wear out and technology in cycling will advance enough so that new questions can be asked until THOSE wear out, then we go back to insults, repeat.

By the way, and not to hijack this thread, what chain lube should I use on my bike? It's a Cervelo RS, by the way. THE best bike money can buy, if you didn't already know that.

Depends. Campy, SRAM, or Shimano?

Shimano of course! Any Cervelo, worth its weight, would have Shimano.

Campy and SRAM suck!

Yes, but nice bikes use Campy and SRAM. Cervelo's can keep the shimano.

Someone please explain to me why it matters if people repeat questions instead of searching for answers. How does that affect you, why does it matter to you?

Why is it that none of you whiners ever answer this?

tagaproject6 10-26-10 08:39 AM

Are you trying to MAKE me get out of this chair? Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like it when I'm angry.

If it's raining, use fish oil. Lock the bike outside, though, unless you're not married. You should use a U-lock, the way Sheldon Brown demonstrated.

Oh, and if you're not a girl let on that you are and you can get away with anything.

Clever! As of today, I am a girl.

I can't believe I'm replying to this, but. . .

Q: Why do people feel the need to post a thread asking a question when there are already 2 threads on the front page asking the same question.

A: They're too lazy to read the first page of posts for an answer to their question. In addition these questions are rarely well thought out or phrased.

To your point about real life, if my friends asked questions as dumb as many of the ones posted here, I would respond with a facepalm and please tell me you're joking. If a stranger asked questions that dumb, especially repeatedly, I would probably endeavor to avoid that person as I don't enjoy their company.

Thank goodness this thread was created. I am looking for some new tires. They have to be completely flat resistant, roll like a race tire , and under 200 grams. Thanks in advance. Oh, I also would like to know what the best chain lube is too.

So, why's a nice girl like you hanging out with a bunch of losers like these guys?

I wasn't asking why people repeat questions, I asked why it bothers people that people do it.

As for the last part of your reply, it's really that simple. Mess with your friends on here, avoid the strangers that annoy.

That's an insult to the females on here. Seriously.

No, I did not ride my trainer today.

Yes, I do drink at work.

No, your girlfriend hasn't stopped calling me.

Yes, I do have a toilet bowl ring.

Sorry, wrong thread. I thought this was about finger puppets.
