Spec out the dream bike you're saving for!
Can't get that next bike out of your head?
Spend some time showing us what it's going to be like!
I'll go first:
I am going to buy the frameset and transfer my current components, buying the rest as I go(not cheap!).
Specialized Roubaix SL3 2011:
Neuvation 50mm Carbon Wheelset:
Sram RED Gruppo:
FSA K-Force Carbon Saddle:
FSA K-Force Carbon Stem:
FSA K-Wing Compact Carbon Handlebars:
Your turn.

Even if I were saving for a dream road bike, it will take a lot of years and I don't think the wife will ever agree for something so much where it can be utilize elsewhere. However, if I ever win the lotto, then it's a different story. The only problem now is what is the ideal frame for me. Bianchi Infinito C2C or Oltre, Pinarello Kobh or Paris, Time RXR S Ulteam, Trek 6.9 SSL, or Pinarello EPS. I'd probably stick with a triple so the only thing I can think of is an Ultegra gruppo. I like both FSA stem and bars the OP posted. Maybe a Fulcrum XLR or a Bontrager XXX, or the ZIPP 404's or Reynolds or an Easton wheelset. Maybe go with either a Fizik or Bontrager saddle. Then some Speedplay pedals - maybe them Zeros. For tires, I'm looking for a bit of comfort so maybe a 700x25. Then I take myself back to reality and the only thing I can stretch out for is a $3k bike. Infinito C2C, Synapse, or a Madone 5.2.

It's no fun if you're just gonna list a bike you'll never ride in your life. Post something you see yourself riding in the near future.

Actually, I did mention what I see myself riding in the near future. I really wanna get back to road biking after over 20 years so those are the candidates towards the bottom of my first post. Whichever of the 3 I end up getting come 2nd quarter of next year, I will be upgrading at least the bars and wheelset to whatever I listed on my dream list. Although I only have the Cannondale and Trek as options for a triple.

You know, I never really did think about that one. That only leaves me Cannondale. Unless if by the time I get the bike next year, the 5 Series Madone comes up with an Apex gruppo. However, the LBS I was looking into buying the Bianchi is willing to swap out the 12-25 to 11-32. And the Infinito only comes in a Compact.

If you actually want Neuvation wheels on your dream bike you need therapy. Sadly for you, Dr. Pcad is not accepting new patients at this time.

Cervelo S3, full SRAM Red groupset except for Quard Cinqo chainrings, HED or Mad Fiber 50mm wheels.
I buy it Feb 2013, when I turn 40.
Holy crap, I am turning 40 in a little more than 2 years.... maybe I should buy it now, before I am that old and over the hill!

Endorphins have no age limitations by the way. And I'll still drop most of you Fred kids, my rapidly approaching 53rd Bday notwithstanding.

Specialized Tarmac SL3 Pro, blue/black frameset or Lynskey (but I doubt I'll stretch my budget that far)
Toupe saddle.
Ritchey WCS bar/stem.
SRAM Force all around, though maybe do Rival+Red shifters.
Not decided on wheels. Some light weight while still a bit robust climbing wheels, EA90SLX, Mavic Kysirium, other 20-25mm clincher, maybe get Psimet to build some.

The next bicycle purchase will quite likely be a Thorn of some sort ... we're debating about a pair of singles (touring bicycles), or a tandem, or both.
As for realistic "dream bike" ... I had one and he was stolen ... my custom-built Marinoni Ciclo. However, I have always wanted a titanium and since I needed a long distance bicycle after Machak was stolen, Rowan has built one up for me.

as for a race bike (even though i don't race..), i'd find a 56 cm masi volumetrica frame- preferably in pumpkin orange- made of columbus sl, kit the thing out fully in nuovo record, have the rear triangle stretched to accomodate a 130 hub, and drop a 9 speed cassette on the wheelset. doll 'er up with some white benotto tape and a turbo saddle, and go ride. minimalist fantasy.. or i could lose 20 pounds and hop back on my race bike of many years.. a vitus.
but as for a real usable bike for how i ride nowadays.. i'd probably have a fully chromed lugged waterford sport tourer or mebbe a yipsan randonneur (with a super cool custom lugged stem!) - either ABSOLUTELY with a properly raked front fork and old style long pull cantis (just with modern pads ) built up to trick out with la paon fenders, a nitto front rack, a TA triple (probably a 30/36/46 rings), probably some old long cage superbe pro derailleur and barcons. spin up a set of large flange sealed hubs with some open pros, throw a brooks on it, a real berthoud bag, and a metric ton of woolens so i could rock it as it should be rocked. the silver ghost!

Throw the stick!!!!
Fuji Altamira LTD frameset
Red Shifters
Force derailleurs
SRAM Quarq crankset
Kestrel bar/stem
Selle SLR saddle
Brakes - undecided
50mm Psimet wheels w/ White Industries Hubs
Here is a pic of the Altamira, I'm just wanting the frameset though. Fuji is supposed to have it available in January.

2010 or 2011 (whichever they have instock in my size) Fuji SST 1.0 frame
Full SRAM Red group
Ritchey Logic WCS Carbon Evolution bars (just got off eBay)
Ritchey Logic WCS stem
I'll be lacing my own wheels, probably DT 240 hubs and haven't settled on rims.
Eventually it'll probably have SRAM S40 or S60 wheels.

My dream bike would come with a fresh set of professional riding legs. The ones I have are too weak for this ****.
