1995 GT edge?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

1995 GT edge?

New to this forum so I'm not sure this is the best place to post this. I just picked up a frame for $10.00 and was hoping someone could help me identify it. I believe it may be a 1995 GT edge but not positive. The frame weighs 3 lbs 12 oz and has an integrated derailleur hanger. The SN is SK5K0664 only other markings are two small SY engraved on the bottom of the frame one on the chain stay and one on the bottom bracket shell. Also wondering if its worth building up as a second bike I currently ride a 1997 GT Edge Aero.

Sure looks a lot like the GT Edge I had back in 1995 (can't get the pic right now). Is yours aluminum or titanium?

Not 100% sure but I think it is aluminum. The Ti frames that I've seen seem to have a yellowish/brownish tint to them. This one is more of a bright silver.

Great find for $10! It definitely looks just like the 90s GT Edge hanging on the wall at my LBS minus the paintjob.

What are you planning on building it up with?

You know you can look that up on bikepedia.com to see what the original build had as components.

I have a 105 group that I was going to upgrade my 97 GT Edge Aero with and was going to use the RSX off of it to build this frame with.
