Carbon Wheelset Recommendation

Carbon Wheelset Recommendation
Hi All,
I have a 2010 Cervelo S2 that I ride about 150 miles per week. I ride flats and hills mostly and I don't race, but I do like to push it sometimes. I want to buy a set of carbon clincher wheels for everyday riding. I like the way they look
I was considering the "Reynolds Strike" or "SRAM S60". I don't have a reason why I like these wheels except for the price range and style. I'd appreciate if you folks can weigh in on which set of wheels you'd recommend. I am not limited to the above and open to all suggestions. If you can share links on great deals, I'd appreciate that too.
Thank you for your comments.

my $ 0.02
I would not recommend high profile rims for everyday use. I Will get blown around alot by passing trucks and crosswinds.

So for someone looking to get the most complete set of answers, a search is not a bad idea.

While I agree that a cycling-related question belongs here, no matter if it is a FAQ, the flip side is that the people who weighed on this subject 9 times in the past few weeks are probably less likely to post the same info a 10th time.

I ride everyday on 44mm (Zip 303) wheels and I never have problems. I think you have to go to very deep rims or live in a place where there are strong gusts to really worry about that.

He mentioned Reynolds Strike's and they are 66mm. I have not ridden them either, but assume (I know, bad) that they would be a little "pushy?" in crosswinds and such.
I had a set of Bontrager Aeolus 5.0s that were very fast, put I personally didn,t like the buffeting in strong x-winds or passing trucks.
If OP is as interested in looks as much as perfomance, maybe some Assaults might be better(or BF recomends)

I like the Williams 38s I have for all around hoops, they only weigh 1460 grams too, $999 from Williams. And see what Psimet can sell you too.

I am getting some very sweet custom wheels from PSIMET with lightweigh hubs (Alchemy) and tuned to my specific needs. I look forward to posting pics when I get them. Additionally, I asked about 4 carbon clinchers a while back ago and got very good information from the riders here on BF.

couldn't help myself. Im aware this isnt a wiki. My comment was not meant to be condescending. All Im saying is this has been discussed in length and the OP would probably benefit from reading some of those prior threads.

I think that the crosswind thing is over pitched. I ride Hed 3 wheels every day and live in the windy flat lands of central Illinois and do not have any serious issues with wind. Sure you can feel a strong gust or a strong cross wind but I do not find it to be an issue.

I, of course, won't throw my hat into the "which is better" club. I consider myself biased of course.
Just chiming in about the crosswind deal. Non-issue in my opinion unless you are a very light rider. It has a lot to do with people's general comfort and handling skills as well. If you are a 180 pound crit crusher living in Chicago....non-issue. Gee - I wonder how I know that?
Long story short - I will pass on some recent input from a Past Masters National Champion I am prepping wheels for for next season as I am sponsoring him this upcoming season. He and I were discussing setups. I have some black op style carbonium coming in for him to test and we both agreed on a 50/60 setup. He races an 808 now to keep his bike at legal weight - I will be having a hard time keeping his setup legal....but....I digress. He flat out said he had to have a shallower front for certain races. I said, "oh for handling?" Kind of surprised....then again he's like 140. He says, "Yeah....but this is for REAL races. The ones we'll be traveling to where we climb for more than 5 minutes and descend for long periods of time. That's it though. Wind can really f me up on those long descents."

I felt the wind too last week when I was going descending down gusty Sandia Crest road. It was no big deal while climbing but was an issue at 35-40 mph. I am just south of 140. I was using Velocity Deep V's. Never thought it would be an issue until then.
