Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ride With GPS + Edge 500

Just got an Edge 500 - is Ride With GPS the best site to use out there? Seems like a lot of members like it.

One thing I can't figure out is why the routes I upload from my Edge 500 to RWGPS never have cue sheets with them. Most of the other routes I search for on the site have cue sheets. What am I missing?

Routes are drawn on the site. ridewithgps.com/routes/ These have automatic cue sheets.

Trips are uploaded GPS files. ridewithgps.com/trips/

Yeah, I think ridewithgps is the best for me. Some of the other sites might be better for following a formal training plan, but I'm just looking at one ride at a time. I use the Metrics tab on the trip, and I like the "Time spent at each mph speed" chart.

Garmin connect will cover the basics. Sport Tracks is also good.

I like ride w/gps in general. Their calories burn algorithm may be somewhat off, but the rest of the site is nice. I also like that you can use it with more than just a Garmin. I have used it with my Android phone and Google MyTracks.

I've never used ridewithgps, how is it compared to garmin connect? Do all the rides i have uploaded to garmin connect currently be transferred to ridewithgps?

Bummer...I was hoping to transfer my saved routes from bikeroutetoaster to ridewithgps for a seamless switch. It would've been nice to keep all the cue sheets I've made.

You can export the GPX from Garmin Connect and then upload to Ride w/GPS but I don't think you can do them all at once - though I've not actually tried. It would probably be a pain if you had a lot to transfer.
