Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Best trainer deal

https://www.realcyclist.com/kinetic-r...-fluid-trainer

If anyone is still looking for a good trainer deal for Christmas. Just ordered one today for $270 shipped (free shipping ends tomorrow) and they say it will get here by Christmas (NICE).

Kurt Kinetic fluid trainer is said to be top of the line, so hopefully this will turn out well.

Merry Christmas everyone!

What makes this better/different than the CycleOps Fluid 2 trainer that goes for $300? Just curious since I'm looking for my first trainer.

every review I have read says kinetic is better than cycleops.

Better in the way that: It is quieter, and has more of a smooth road feel to it.

I would not actually know since this is also my first trainer BUT

If anything the fact that Kinetic road machines go for much more than cycleops fluid trainers should tell you they are of more quality. And with this deal you can get them at a cheap price!!

I've tried both and they are both good trainers. The new Cyclops is very nice. I own a Kinetic and it works very well. Either way, indoor training is boring.

Do yourself a favor - get the rock and roll version, it is worth the extra and will increase your indoor time 100%

I have used both, and currently own the Fluid 2.

The KK is slightly better, but most wouldn't notice the difference.

If you own or use a KK long enough you feel the difference immediately. I got a computer fit on a power cyclops and it felt cheap compared to my KK. The rock and roll is nice, so get it if you can spare the extra 100. I have two KK and my buddy has the rock and roll.
