What is your "best frame for the money" frame?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Oh, and I imagine I will be used to it with 1500 hours on it. The benefits of the frame over my previous bike are likely to be most obvious when I first ride it. No?

Your question is a good one. I like my bikes more on some days than others. Sometimes they fit just right, and sometimes they seem a bit off
. Anyone else feel like that?

Best frame for the money..... If your talking new and something aggressive my money would be on the new Specialized E5 Allez. This bike is essentially the old S-Works E5 frame but with a tapered head tube. For around $550.00 with a carbon fork, seatpost and headset its a steal.

They increased the price to $580. I guess demand really hit'em hard. That's good to hear that it's basically the old E5 S-works though- I was wondering about that ever since that one BF member decided to turn his E5 into a sub-15lb project.

This, for sure. There's a couple hanging on the wall at the local shop and I have a tough time to leave them alone. Grab one of those and stick a Tarmac fork on it if you want to drop a bit of weight. After that, a 15-16# bike is no problem at all if you're worried about weight. If you're not, then a great bike is an easy build.

I only keep 1 TT frame and 1 regular frame at a time so it usually works ot to be a lateral movement when I build a new bike.

Not till February 14th and even then the selling price will be under $550.00 at most shops.

Standard threaded BB and an integrated headset that comes with the frame.

TCR Composite 1

$400 mint condition

plastic frame
plastic fork w/ plastic steerer(with headset)
plastic seat post
plastic spacers

just by the seat post marking, i can tell the P/O is about 2-3 inches too short for the frame, hence the
lack of mile/wear on the frame(my guess). The FD hanger developed a crack during a century, not sure if that's
from me or the P/O, 12 dollar later she's running again.

but holy ugly graphic batman LOL, almost wish they painted the whole thing black instead

I got a custom geometry Gunnar Sport frame with an Ouzo Pro fork on ebay for $280 shipped. It happened to be my size. Retail is ~$1200. I sold the fork for $100.

My commuter bike is a NOS new in the box Novara Randonee frame that I got at an REI garage sale for $15. I ride to work on it almost every day.
