Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Front wheel wobble

Hi folks,

I'm riding a Motobecane century comp and it has about 400 miles on it.
During moderate speed braking(15~20mph), the front wheel wobbles.
It didn't do this when the bike was new.

Any idea as to what might be causing this?

Thanks in advance.

Is the quick-release clamped down tight? If so, your hub's cones may need adjusting.

^That, especially if you can wobble your wheel back and forth while it is stationary. Also check that your rim is true and your brake pads are hitting evenly.

All of the above, and check spoke tension too.
