bar tape
During winter the bartape on the right side shifted very easily, leaving a gap somewhere inbetween the stem and the hood. After each ride I moved it back in position. Anyway, this weekend I bought new tape, and I wrapped the new tape on the bar. Today I noticed during my ride it was almost shifting at the same place. ...
- Now I need to do it again - buy perhaps some other better adhesive tape, or perhaps leave it as it is - I suck at riding, and additionally I have two left hands

I will check the wrap tutorial as seen on the web once again. probably I need to wrap with more overlap. Anyway, I think to do away with the foamy wrap and go for some cloth like tape. regards

ya.. most modern bar tapes aren't really "tape" anymore.. they dont need the adhesive backing... rather they have a rubber/silicone type of grip that holds really well.. i had the adhesive kind and they are an absolute pain to remove all the residue in the case that you have to take them off..

I posted a thread several months ago about my most recent tape job. In that post, I described how after I had unwrapped the old tape, I used it to do a test to see how hard I could pull on the tape before it broke. I was surprised the amount of effort it took to break the tape! So...when I wrapped the new tape, I really wrapped it tightly, which allowed me to have good overlap and not run out by the time I got to the stem.

Try Fizik Microtex Tape.
Also, make sure your bar doesn't have any type of coating on it before you install your tape.
Clean it with rubbing alcohol, let it dry and re-install.
