Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Its the squishyness thats the problem for some it compresses nerves in the hand.

This. Plus that lake is...ummmmm...not exactly a clear water lake...it's full of...uhhhh...nutrients...yeah...that's it...so it tends to holds it temp well into the fall.

You swim with your mouth closed, right?

Very strange then, sbxx. I have been lucky in that regard, as my hands don't seem to care what bar tape they grab.

I guess the roads are smooth enough, or my fork is dampening enough, because I've never had hand or wrist pain while riding.

I suppose it might be a fit issue, as LAJ suggested, but I think it's because the old bike transmits a lot more road buzz. No big deal. A little buzz never killed anyone.

Interesting. You'd think non squishy tape would be worse for the nerves.

I have gel under my bar wrap and I tape my wrist. I'm going to try putting less weight on my wrists but how? Just hold my body up with my lower back?

with a stronger core you will be able to keep more of the weight off of your hands, not just with your lower back.but your entire core.

At the intersection near work, the homeless guy had a new sign today.

I guess when you've got a wounded duck program and your administration decides to go cheap (despite having a $100 million budget), that's who you end up with--a wait-and-see, second-tier candidate.
