Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ants in my pants

3 separate UPS packages on their way to me.

- One from Lynskey with my Sportive frame
- One containing my Quarq from Psimet (as well as some books & misc bits-n-bobs that I've been looking forward to getting)
- One from B&H with my new 15" Macbook Pro.

Thu/Fri is the weekend in this part of the world. Saturday cannot come fast enough. This is the first time I've looked forward to a "Monday" so badly.

I just needed to get this off my chest. How the hell am I supposed to wait 4 more days???

One time, two packages arrived on a Friday. I got home all excited and realized my wife accidentally took the mail-box key when she left out of town. Rental office was closed already. That was a painful weekend.

I assume your new wife no longer has the keys?

Or expecting a package on Friday only to find out Fed Ex was there and needed a signature forcing you to wait until Monday.

I used to have a thing for parodies, but a mod told me how much work they usually created for him.

Close - got paid for my first invoice. I have a rule - with every consulting assignment I take, a certain portion of the earnings get blown on stuff I am lusting for but dont really need. The Macbook Pro thankfully doesnt fit in this (I do need a replacement laptop), so I still have to figure out what else to get

It makes the days in Oman pass a little easier (and I actually like Oman - nice country, very nice people... it is just a little too quiet for my tastes, and I cant stand Dubai, so going there on weekends is out).

Velo Gator - *second* best pants thread? Really? *grumble*

The only thing biting in that vicinity was that damn Selle Italia SLR saddle I got off you. I cannot believe this is one of the most popular saddle models out there - it should be renamed the Taintgrater.

I know right?! My butt started hurting almost instantly, and the cutout didn't do its job either. But people swear by those things...
