Those are the breaks.

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Although I am the biggest generator of white noise on BF, I can no longer handle the white noise on BF.

Make no mistake. BF is 99.99999999999999% white noise. Who knows better than me?

Normally this would be a call the cab moment (thank God for cell phones, back in the Day it would have been a walk a half mile in your bike shoes to a pay phone moment). Mrs. Pcad was home, I got her to throw the Cervelo in the back of my truck and scoot out so I could switch bikes. Which took about 20-25 mins, but she kindly accommodated my bike weenie needs.

So it was just like Cadel's bike swap @ the Giro, only on flatter terrain, far more Fredly, and it did not cost me a Grand Tour GC podium spot. I continued my ride on the S2 and got 25 miles in. Mission accomplished.

Some kind good samaritan sees me sitting on the road side, pulls over and asks me if I was OK. I smiled and told him the Pcad Team Car was on its way : ).
This is how you know pcad is getting senile.

It was the 09 Vuelta, and Cuddles finished 3rd behind Valverde and Sanchez. He could have finally won a GT, but me thinks wearing the rainbow jersey is more prestigious than winning the Vuelta.

Oh, and carry a chain tool, quick link, and a few spares links. It has saved my ride on more than one occasion.

OK, you're right, it was the friggin Vuelta, which makes the reference even more obscure to most of the world, if that's even possible. Vuelta, Giro. If it's not the Tour de France, who the eff knows the difference anyway? Either way two-million-bucks-a-year-but-what- have-you-done-for-us-lately Cadel will find a way to eff it up and you know it. What a sad sack whiner that dude can be.

No, I will not carry a chain tool you friggin Ivy League Fred.

Can't help but agree about Evans. And he's Australian and I should be supporting him. McEwen and O'Grady were whiners, too, but not in the same league as Evans. Maybe the same people who gave Robbie and Stuie an upsmack can do the same to him.

Bet Evans doesn't ride with a chain tool and spare link. Ergo...

"Sir, that chain snap looks terminal. It appears as if we have to warranty this here bike, just leave that frame with me and we'll take care of it."

Whenever I have to walk a distance to get to civilization, the clicky shoes always come off. I suppose I could call my bros from work, but meh.

The LBS has Cadel's BMC up for auction.

Oh, as if I have control over 99.9% of what happens. I learned I don't a long time ago. Acknowledging one's own powerlessness is the most empowering experience possible. I realize that's way too friggin Zen for most of you Freds, but there it is.

The link that busted looked like my cat Chester could have severed it with his 15 year old teeth.

And here I thought I, as a snobby Ivy League Intellectual Wanna-be Fred, had just graduated to reading more profound threads, where Pcad did not dare tread. And all this while it was just you shirking your Papal duties.

For shame.
