I have enough saved up to pay off my remaining debt.. but I'm buying a new bike with it instead.

I love that this thread has a life of its own! My GF and I love reading that we are not alone in our delusions of exaggerations of abilities

I am getting sick of the SoCal 35+ racing scene. Even though I win once in a while. I can't wait until 2014 so I can take the racing season off as I prepare for Paris-Brest-Paris.

zrossiter 04-29-13 09:29 PM

I think I like buying bike swag as much or more than I like actually riding my bike

robbyville 04-30-13 06:05 AM

I'm such a weight weenie that I go number two before every ride to lighten the load!

himespau 04-30-13 06:20 AM

Before is better than having to go during.

PatrickGSR94 04-30-13 06:55 AM

I don my bike kit to go on a 8-10 mile jaunt. It's just more comfortable that way.

alexaschwanden 04-30-13 08:31 AM

I am thinking of buying a folding bike in the future.

lazyeye 04-30-13 01:39 PM

I actually like single speed bikes even though my roadie is more efficient and faster.

cccorlew 04-30-13 01:42 PM

I so very much want to be cool and love my fixie, but I don't. I love my Roubaix with a triple.

caloso 04-30-13 01:43 PM

All my road bars/stems are 26.0 mm.

Number400 04-30-13 01:48 PM

I hate pooping at work.

jsharr 04-30-13 01:54 PM

We are the only tenant on our floor. Other floors have learned this and employees of other companies ride the elevator to our floor to use our bathrooms. My confession, we have a whistle. If you do not respond to the whistle, we turn the lights out when we leave the bathroom, leaving you in a dark stall.

Like George Costanza, I have my own throne room at work. It is fantastic. I prefer to poop there.

Full of awesome. I went OS bars and noticed nothing different except for a thinner wallet. My commuter has a big daddy triple and it rides like butter. I destroy the lunch ride on the downhills because I have more mass. They pay me back on the climbs for the same reason and because I suck.

Dudelsack 04-30-13 03:05 PM

I watched reruns of the Batchelor because I think Sean and Catherine are so cute.

WHOOOSSHHH... 04-30-13 03:55 PM

I'm perfect...

I'd be interested to see if anyone has done any stiffness tests on 26 v. 31mm bars.

pjdizzy 04-30-13 05:59 PM

I'm too fat for this sport.

I've convinced myself that 2-3 15 mile rides a week will help me lose weight.

I ride a GT road bike.

JimF22003 05-01-13 01:40 AM

My regular bike is in the shop, and I've been riding my 7-year old Trek in the meantime. I've spent $15K on bikes since I stopped using the Trek as my main bike, and there's very little appreciable difference.

I have absolutely no idea how to do about 90% of my job...yet that really does not seem to matter, in fact I just got a small raise a few weeks ago

I'm assuming that you can get away with a little less clamping force on a 31 (without slippage), so I wonder if this was a consideration as carbon bars became more common, more so than overall stiffness.
